EMI DETECTOR
The Radar Engineers Model 246A is a highly sensitive broadband pulse detector designed for pinpointing electromagnetic interference in demanding power plant environments. Optimized for large motors, generators, PT cabinets, and ISO phase bus systems, it quickly identifies EMI from arcing shaft bearings, sparking ground brushes, and deteriorating connections or insulators. Operators can switch between H-field and E-field detection modes, with four selectable frequency bands; VLF, LF, HF, and UHF for precise signal analysis. An AC line synchronous indicator aids in correlating interference with power line cycles, improving diagnostic accuracy.
Built for durability and portability, the 246A includes both E-field and H-field antennas, plus an integrated speaker and headphone jack for versatile monitoring.
